#2. WHAT WE DO - and why?

Never have I been the person to go to the shop and choose something new - I’m just not wired like that.

Maybe it's the planet guilt I feel (a lot of the time).  There are more second hand items in my home than new and I’m proud of that.  For me, buying preloved to keep or flip started long before the internet.  

When my sisters would dump their unwanted belongings on me, I’d take them to the markets and make hundreds of dollars.  When living in London with the brand new internet, you’d find me flipping on Gumtree.  (Wow there’s an abundance of amazing vintage and antique furniture over there!)

I guess it's a life philosophy…

Naturally, this is where I landed.  Sourcing off-cuts of the most beautifully handmade vintage, natural materials and re-creating them for the modern home.  After much trial and error I now have a brilliant team of many suppliers that totally understand me and my needs (and perfectionism! LOL).

The amount of repurposing, reusing & reselling around at the moment is testament to this feeling enmasse of the need for slow, conscious living. 

Do you think about materials when making a purchase?  Hopefully you do.  If you don’t, try it!  Once you start you won’t stop.  Quality over quantity and pre-loved over must-have.
