Hi! I’m Amy, the heart and soul of Moorish Co. I’m here to tell you a little about where it all started…
Having moved to London from Sydney at 19, the shores of culture-rich ancient cities kept me away for 13 years working in the UK, Italy and most recently Zanzibar (watch this space for some new products relating to this period of my life!).
The love for textiles is in my DNA, born of a furniture making family and a house proud (sewing machine wielding) mother. Managing a flooring company in London collaborating with interior designers was just one of my favourite jobs overseas.
Those that know me well will remember the handmade cushions and throws made from vintage material that adorned the back seat of my first car (cringe - ha!)
Returning to Australia with a container load of vintage furniture and treasures from around the globe it was an organic transition to dabble in the business of my favourtite kind of wares.
